It all depends on what is available to your city, but also where you fly. If you have a route you take most often, you will find your options become limited. Among the global alliances, the ones who stand out are Star Alliance, SkyTeam and Oneworld. However, you must take into consideration your personal travel habits before making the final choice.

For example, look into the airline's upgrading options. If you travel often enough, the chosen airline will give you the chance to earn airline elite status.

Oneworld is one of the airline alliances with the smallest member number, totaling 12. Still, the alliance makes up in terms of destinations. Oneworld will take you to the most important destinations in the world, such as Hong Kong, London and New York.
